2018 activity report

You will find via this link the 2018 activity report of our non-profit organisation “Les Enfants de Panzi et d’Ailleurs”.

We propose some data from this report as a summary of the document:

Two psychological care sites and one psychological supervision site: KAVUMU village (30 km from Bukavu) and BUNYAKIRI village (80 km from Bukavu) are care sites. The village of MINOVA (near Goma) became a supervision site at the end of 2017. Indeed, too far from Bukavu to allow rapid access, and with fewer rape victims than in Kavumo and Bunyakiri, the Minova site was entrusted to another association dependent on the Panzi Foundation, but EPA continues to provide remote educational management and financial support for the victims’ schooling.

Care for 63 girl survivors of sexual violence in the village of KAVUMU: 32 girls between the ages of 4 and 10 years, and 7 children between the ages of 11 and 14 years. And in the village of BUNYAKIRI, care for 14 girls, including 12 children between the ages of 5 and 10 and 2 children between the ages of 11 and 14 from KAVUMU and BUNYAKIRI.

EPA takes care of about 100 children annually, with their families and communities.

720 individualized follow-up visits to the families of raped victims (family counselling) in KAVUMU and 432 family counselling visits in KAVUMU. The rule is to try to visit a survivor twice a month.

4 girls from BUNYAKIRI and 6 from KAVUMU benefit from individual therapeutic follow-up from 2018.

In 2018 There were three follow-up missions to schools, and 9 missions in general to organize therapeutic games on site.
